This guide does not cover which spare parts are available for specific Hoselink Solar Light models.

Solar Light is not turning on at night
Symptom: The Solar Light does not illuminate at night as expected.

The following bullet points are reasons as to why Hoselink Solar Lights may not be turning on at night:
The Solar Light may be turned off at switch or power button.
The Solar Light has not received sufficient direct sunlight during the day to charge the battery.
The Solar Panel may be dirty, or obstructed.
The Solar Panel may be detecting another nearby source of light.
The battery may not be holding charge.
Internal wiring or components may be faulty.
Visible water damage inside the Solar Light.

- Ensure the solar light is activated and powered on. Depending on the model, this may require switching the ON/OFF switch to the ON position, pressing the power button once, or holding the power button for a few seconds to activate the light. Refer to the Solar Light product manuals for specific model instructions.

Instructions:
- Place the Solar Light in a position where the Solar Panel will receive the required amount of direct sunlight. Typically this is 6-8 hours per day, however some Solar Lights do require longer. Refer to the Solar Lights product manuals for specific model requirements.
If this is the first time charging the solar light, ensure it has been activated according to the manual instructions and allow it to charge in direct sunlight for 1–2 full days to achieve an initial full charge.
Note: During the winter months or periods of bad weather, when there are fewer hours of sunlight, Solar Lights may not charge as fully and therefore may not stay on as long as they do during the summer months.

- If the Solar Light model includes an ON/OFF power button, press and hold the button for 3–5 seconds to perform a battery reset. Then place the Solar Light in direct sunlight for the recommended charging period to allow the battery to fully charge.

Solar lights that show signs of faulty wiring or visible water damage (such as moisture inside the unit) are not repairable. These conditions indicate internal damage that compromises the safety and functionality of the product.
If the Solar Light is within the 12 month warranty period, it is eligible for replacement.

Solar Light is turning on during the day
Symptom: The Solar Light illuminates during daylight unexpectedly.

The Solar Panel is covered.

- Check that nothing is covering or shading the solar panel. Any obstruction can block sunlight and may cause the panel to incorrectly detect darkness, which can trigger the light to turn on during the day.

- Use a soft, damp cloth to gently clean the Solar Panel. This removes any dirt or debris that may be blocking sunlight and preventing the Solar Panel from properly charging the light’s battery.
If your Solar Panel looks cloudy or has a filmy residue on the surface, don’t worry—it’s easy to clean. The best method is to apply a small amount of toothpaste and gently rub it over the affected area with a soft cloth or sponge. This helps remove the buildup without damaging the panel.
