Cause
There are a small number of original Evolve Hose Reels where the spool cover were initially installed with 3 screws. Whilst this has no affect on the retraction of the hose reel, it has resulted in some hose reels developing a loud grinding noise when extending or retracting the Evolve Hose Reel.
The Hoselink products team have since increased the number of screws from 3 to 6 in manufacturing of all Evolve Hose Reels which has allowed for better flexibility and eliminated the grinding noise.
Note:
This should only occur in hose reels purchased before July 2025.
Resolution
A loud grinding noise occurring with an Evolve Hose Reel cannot be fixed. A replacement would be required. The warranty for Evolve Hose Reels is 5 years.
