Evolve Hose Reel - Leaking - Trouble Shooting Guide

Help & advice to resolve leaks on your Evolve Hose Reel (models E10020B, E10020C, E10030B and E10030C)

If your Evolve Retractable hose reel is unexpectedly leaking, use this guide to identify the issue & resolution.

This guide does not cover leaks coming from accessories (such as spray guns) or the fittings/connectors fitting to the hose.

Warranty: Five year warranty.


Leaking from the Base of the Evolve Retractable Hose Reel

Symptom: A steady stream of water or gushing from the bottom of then Evolve Hose Reel Casing. This can also be described as an internal leak.

Causes

The following bullet points are reasons as to why the Hoselink Evolve Hose Reel may be leaking from the bottom of the casing (internally).

  • Failure of an internal O-Ring.

  • Failure of Axel Cap.

  • Damaged in Transit causing Leak on first use.

Resolution

Leaking from the base of the Evolve Hose Reel is an issue that cannot be repaired.

If the Evolve Hose Reel is within the 5 years warranty, it is eligible for replacement.

Leaking from the Evolve Leader Hose Entry Point

Symptom: A small or persistent drip runs down the leader hose from the leader hose entry point.

Causes

A damaged O-Ring on the Leader Hose.

Resolution: Replacing the Evolve Leader Hose

In the unlikely event the Evolve Hose Reel is leaking from the Leader Hose Entry Point, this could be caused by a damaged O-Ring. You can replace the Leader Hose on the Evolve Hose Reel using the below instructions or video from 1m 35s in.

Replacement Evolve Leader Hoses can be purchased directly on the website for those damaged through misuse. For an Evolve Leader Hose which needs replacing under the 5 year warranty, contact Customer Support.

Instructions:

  1. Make sure the water is turned off at the tap and the pressure is released from the end of the hose.

  2. Remove the left side panel by gently pulling it away from the Evolve casing.

  3. Push the hose up slightly, remove the quick-connect clip and take away the damaged Leader Hose. If you're having trouble removing the quick-connect clip with your hands, then a pair of pliers will do the trick.

  4. Before putting the new Evolve Leader Hose on, replace the quick-connect clip.

  5. Feed the new Evolve Leader Hose into the reel, pushing it firmly onto the hose connector.

  6. Then push the quick-connect clip in firmly to hold the hose in place.

  7. Replace the side panel.

Note: If this does not resolve the leak then it means something has gone wrong internally and the hose reel will not repairable. The Evolve Hose Reel has a 5 year warranty.

Hole in Hose

Symptom: The main hose on your retractable hose reel is punctured or has a split that needs repairing.

Causes

Due to the robust nature of the hoses that are used in Hoselink reels, a puncture or split is usually due to environmental influences (such as a dog chewing the hose).

Resolution: Replace the Hose

Replacing the Main Hose in the Evolve Retractable Hose Reel can be done. It's extremely important to follow the exact instructions. Failure to do so can result in severe bodily harm to fingers and hands.

Important

  • The two safety keys included with replacement hoses for the Evolve Hose Reel must be inserted before beginning the hose replacement process. This step is essential to lock the reel mechanism and prevent the hose from retracting unexpectedly, which could result in serious injury.
