Metal Hose Reel Box - Trouble Shooting Guide

This article will assist customers who are experiencing issues with their Metal Hose Reel Box.

If your Hoselink Metal Hose Reel Box is not working as expected, use this article to identify the issue and resolution.

Hose is not layering evenly

Symptom: The hose is getting tangled or is bunching on top of itself rather than layering smoothly across the hose box.

Causes

  • Lack of tension

  • Feeder arm not aligned correctly

Resolution 1: Ensure tension is applied

  • Hold the hose with one hand about a meter away from the reel. As you wind with the other hand, apply slight tension and manually guide the hose slowly from left to right.

Resolution 2: Re-align the feeder arm

Instructions: Below are step by step instructions as well as a video guide to follow in order to ensure the feeder arm of the Metal Hose Reel Box is correctly aligned.

Instructions:

  1. Open the top of the box, then press and lift the tab on the left hand side of the hose guide system. This will allow the hose guide to run freely across the front of the box.

  2. Pull the entire hose out.

  3. Position the hose guide system to the far left and press down to click into place.

  4. Turn the crank handle clockwise, guiding the hose in with your other hand.


Leaking from the leader hose entry point

Symptom: There is water leaking from around where the leader hose connects to the side of the Metal Hose Reel Box.

Causes

  • Incorrectly installed

  • Damaged o-rings on the inlet

Resolution 1: Ensure installed correctly

If there is a leak occurring at the leader hose entry point, refer to steps 4 and 5 of the Metal Hose Box Manual to ensure the correct installation steps have been carried out.

Resolution 2: Replace the o-rings on inlet

  • Replacement o-rings for the inlet of the Metal Hose Reel Box are size specific. To arrange replacement o-rings or the inlet of the Metal Hose Reel Box, contact Customer Support.


Crank handle has broken

Symptom: The crank handle used to wind the hose onto the Metal Hose Box has cracked or broken.

Resolution: Replace the crank handle
